Welcome to DRMS! 

Transitioning to Middle School is an exciting and new experience for students entering the 5th grade. During your students 4th grade school year he or she will spend an afternoon at the Middle School meeting staff, finding new classrooms, asking questions and learning a few things about what the upcoming year will be like for them. While we don't want to overload these students with information it is a great way to get an idea of how things will work here.

In the fall you and your student are invited to Middle School orientation night. This is a great opportunity to meet staff, tour the school and talk about any questions you or your child might have. While there are adjustments to the routines and demands of Middle School everyone here will be working to ensure your child has a successful transition and 5th grade year. At home you can share information with your child and encourage them to ask questions as well. Planning and talking about this together will help them to make this step successfully.
